Annual event set at Dog Fanciers Park

Clark County Parks and Recreation's 13th annual "Strut Your Mutt" event will be 10-3 p.m. Saturday at Dog Fanciers Park, 5800 E. Flamingo Road.

Demonstrations of canine intelligence and agility are planned. Information booths will highlight pet health, adoptions, pet safety, grooming, clothing, canine companions, general canine information and pet products.

Spectators' admission is $2 per person or a bag or can of pet food, and $4 per person and dog to enter the contests and games. Call 455-8200.

Camelot 2001 on tap Saturday

"Camelot 2001" will be presented at 6:30 p.m. Saturday by Opportunity Village, 6300 West Oakey Blvd. and will feature a champagne reception and private tour of the Magical Forest.

Guests include, Sen. and Mrs. Harry Reid and former Sen. and Mrs. Richard Bryan, honorary chairman Sig Rogich, honorary chairwoman Phyllis McGuire and dinner chairman Rino Armeni.

Henderson contest entries are due

The Henderson Commemorative Beautification Commission is accepting entries for its 2001 holiday decorating contest.

Entries must be submitted on or before Nov. 27 and are limited to the first 50 received.

Three types of entries are available: residential, group and commercial. Entrants must select one display type: use of lights, children's, handmade, modern, religious, and other.

Entries will be judged by members of the HCBC from 6:30-10:30 p.m. on Dec. 4. For more information, call 566-2289.

Northwest Health Careers

is sponsoring its third annual Three-Mile Walk for the Homeless at 8 a.m. Saturday at Northwest Health Careers, 2701 N. Tenaya Way, Suite 130, to benefit Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada. Entry fee is one can of food for each mile walked.

A homemade-craft show,

sponsored by the Henderson Parks and Recreation Department, will be 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday at Black Mountain Recreation Center, 599 Greenway Road and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Nov. 24 at Silver Springs Recreation Center, 1951 Silver Springs Parkway. Admission is free. Call 565-2880 or 435-3814.

The Foundation for an Independent Tomorrow

will be holding its fourth annual Notte di Carnevale at 6 p.m. Friday at Mandalay Bay. Honorees will be Sen. Harry and Landra Reid and Sen. John and Darlene Ensign. Tickets for the dinner and dance are $250. Call 362-8544.

Silver State Market Place

will have its kick-off swap meet Saturday and Sunday in the main parking lot of Sam Boyd Stadium, 7000 E. Russell Road. The swap meet will be held the third weekend of each month, through April. Call 386-7927.
