LAKE CHARLES, La. -- Harrah's Lake Charles, which operates two riverboat casinos, has cut 90 workers and will let 85 vacant positions go unfilled.
Harrah's general manager John Payne said the action was taken due to reduced tourism since the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. The complex draws a large number of gamblers from Texas.
The cuts came across all jobs areas. After the cuts, Harrah's will employ 1,300, Payne said.
