MILWAUKEE -- The Potawatomi Bingo Casino will draw 3 million visitors in its first year of operation, becoming the largest attraction in the Milwaukee area.
The casino, with its 95-foot simulated torch, will bring roughly 200,000 more people than Miller Park drew in its opening year.
The gaming house, which opened in November 2000, also is attracting more people than the Midwest Express Center, the Milwaukee Art Museum and the Milwaukee County Zoo.
The tribe projects the casino will have even more visitors this year than Wisconsin Dells or Door County, two of the state's tourist hot spots.
The Potawatomi replaced its bingo hall with a $120 million Las Vegas-style casino, which also has five restaurants and two theaters.
