What will be open, closed on Monday

Veterans Day is celebrated Nov. 11 to observe the end of hostilities in World Wars I and II. Because it falls on a Sunday this year, many entities will observe Monday as the holiday. Here's what is open and closed on Monday:
SAFETY: Police and fire emergency services open as usual. Administrative offices closed.
UTILITIES: Open: Sprint, Cox Communications cable TV. Closed: Southwest Gas, Nevada Power, Las Vegas Valley Water District.
GOVERNMENT: Closed: Las Vegas, Henderson, Boulder City, North Las Vegas, Clark County, state, courts, federal offices, federal courthouse.
SCHOOLS: Closed, no classes: Clark County public schools, Community College of Southern Nevada, UNLV.
DELIVERIES: Closed, no deliveries: U.S. Postal Service. Open, deliveries as usual: United Parcel Service.
NEWSPAPER: Sun offices open, afternoon Sun published and delivered as usual.
TRANSIT: Downtown Transportation Center: Open. City trolleys: Holiday schedule (two trolleys instead of three). Citizens Area Transit buses: Holiday schedule (fewer buses on fixed routes).
LIBRARIES: Closed: North Las Vegas District. Open Monday but closed Sunday: Las Vegas-Clark County District, Henderson District, Boulder City District.
GARBAGE: Republic Services of Southern Nevada pickups as usual.
MATRIMONY: Marriage License Bureau open 24 hours, starting 8 a.m. Friday, closing midnight Monday.
FINANCIAL: Closed: Banks (however, check your local branch because some may opt to stay open, according to the Nevada Division of Financial Institutions). Open: Brokerage firms.
PARKING: City parking metered spaces are free.
