Six UNLV women will compete this weekend at the 2001 Arizona State Thunderbirds Invitational at Tempe.
The 32-player singles draw and 16-team doubles draw is made up of players from UNLV, ASU, California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, San Diego and Texas Tech.
The Rebels' Paulina Janus earned the second seed and had a first-round bye today. Agnieszka Abram, seeded sixth, will face Nicole Havlicek of California. Marianne Bakken will take on Cindy Sureephong of the host Sun Devils while freshman Tracie Chong drew Jean Jacobs of Cal and Gyorgui Zsiros will face Carla Arguelles, also of Cal.
