UBS schedules several locations
United Blood Services, 6930 W. Charleston Blvd., will have blood drives at these locations: Monday: 8 a.m.-3 p.m., Silverton hotel, 3333 Blue Diamond Road; 7 a.m.-12 noon, New-Com Inc., 412 E. Gowan Road.
Tuesday and Wednesday: 7 a.m.-1:30 p.m., Mojave High School, 5302 Goldfield St.
Thursday: 7 a.m.-1:30, Cheyenne High School, 3200 W. Alexander Road; noon-7 p.m., Boulder City Community at Elks Lodge, 1217 Nevada Highway; 8 a.m.-1 p.m., Health Plan Services, 1921 S. Las Vegas Blvd., 106.
Friday: 10 a.m.-3 p.m., Providian Financial Group, 2280 Corporate Circle; 7 a.m.-1:30 p.m., Cheyenne High School, 3200 W. Alexander Road; 1-7 p.m., LVMPD/ SWAC, 5925 Spring Mountain Road.
Saturday: 1-7 p.m., St. Joseph Husband of Mary Catholic Church, 7260 W. Sahara Ave.; 7:30 a.m.-3 p.m., Canyon Ridge Christine Church, 6200 W. Lone Mountain Road.

Fall Fashion Show planned at Castaways
The Desert Newcomers Club will hold its Fall Fashion Show at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in the main showroom at the Castaways, 2800 Fremont St.
The club's purpose is to help new residents establish friendship while becoming acquainted with the area.
Cost for the fashion show is $17. Call 564-6350.
Applications for membership accepted
The Junior League of Las Vegas is accepting applications for its winter provisional class and will hold an orientation Thursday at 461 S. Decatur Blvd.
Interested women, 21 years of age or older, will have until Nov. 30 to submit an application for membership. Call 822-6536.
Henderson rec center to salute veterans
The Henderson Parks and Recreation Department will host a USO show, "Salute to Veterans," at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Lorna J. Kesterson Valley View Recreation Center, 500 Harris St.
The show will pay tribute to the men and women who served in the armed forces during times of war.
Admission is $8; $5 for youth and seniors. Call 565-2367.
Audubon Society plans field trip
The Red Rock Audubon Society is sponsoring a birding field trip with a potluck lunch 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday at the Henderson Bird Viewing Preserve.

Metro Police's Internet Crimes
Against Children Task Force will be offering a program at 6 p.m. Thursday at Bennett Elementary School, 2750 S. Needles Highway, Laughlin, to protect children from falling victim to Internet crime. For more information, call 298-2223.
