Columnist Peter Benton: Founders Club makes donation to youth golf

The Southern Nevada Inner City Youth Golf Association recently received a contribution of $59,350 from the Las Vegas Founders' Golf Foundation.
This substantial gift will assist in funding three of the association's programs and will also enable the entity to purchase a much needed van.
The three programs being helped include the Fall for Golf and Spring for Golf clinics, which teach middle school youngsters life's lessons through golf.
Additionally, the Founders' Club has funded the "Fore All Year" program. This program allows SNICYGA members to play practice rounds and tournaments at various courses around the valley.
Established in 1982 as a non-profit corporation, the Las Vegas Founders' Club's primary function is to serve as the governing body of the PGA Tour's Invensys Classic.
Proceeds from these tournaments are placed in the group's philanthropic arm, the Las Vegas Founders Golf Foundation, which provides charitable contributions to worthy organizations such as the SNICYGA.
The Southern Nevada Inner City Youth Golf Association's annual Celebrity Golf Tournament is scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 12 at the Stallion Mountain layout.
This four-person plus one celebrity scramble will be hosted by Mike Maddux. Some of the celebrities competing include his brother, Greg, along with local PGA Tour pros Eddie Fryatt, Bob May and Robert Gamez.
