Ken's Foods, a Marlborough, Mass.-based manufacturer of salad dressings, barbecue sauces and mayonnaise, will build a West Coast processing and distribution plant in Las Vegas, the company announced.
The company plans to break ground early next year on a 160,000-square-foot plant on 20 acres in the 400-acre Blue Diamond Ranches mixed-use development at Blue Diamond Road and Decatur Boulevard. The company did not disclose how much it would invest in construction.
The building will be completed in the fourth quarter of 2002 and will house 100 employees after its first year.
Ken's Foods, which employs 600 people in plants in Massachusetts and Atlanta, manufactures more than 150 types of dressings and sauces and produces the private label dressings for some Las Vegas casinos and actor Paul Newman. The plant in Las Vegas will make products for casinos as well as the food service industry on the West Coast.
