Robert E. Coonan
Robert E. Coonan, 75, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 2, 1926, in Worcester, Mass. A resident for 17 years, he was a retired manager of Rexnord Corp. and a World War II Navy veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Heidy; two sons, Terrance Foster of Wheelwright, Mass., and Wayne Coonan of Shirley, Mass.; one daughter, Susan LaPorte of Barre, Mass.; two brothers, Raymond Coonan of Worcester and Warren Coonan of Las Vegas; one sister, Marguarite Chiarelli of Fitchburg, Mass.; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Palm Chapel, Jones. Graveside services will follow at noon Wednesday in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest, 5701 N. Jones Blvd.
Martha F. Dougherty
Martha F. Dougherty, 74, of Las Vegas died Oct. 26. A waitress, she was born May 2, 1927, in Kearny, N.J.
She is survived by her husband, James; three daughters, Eileen Zadie of La Mesa, Calif., Diane Gursky of Miami and Suzanne Gursky of San Marcos, Calif.; one son, Casimir Gursky of Cream Ridge, N.J.; two stepdaughters, Lynn Halaby of Florida and Eileen Zamora of Los Angeles; three stepsons, Richard Dougherty of Washington state, Robert Dougherty of Florida and Thomas Dougherty of Las Vegas; three sisters, Margaret Reynolds, Anne Ligenza and Clara Zinckgraf, and one brother, James Reynolds, all of New Jersey; and 14 grandchildren.
North County Cremation, San Marcos, is handling arrangements.
The family suggests donations to Scripps Memorial Hospital, 354 Santa Fe Drive, Encinitas, CA 92024.
Dolores Acuna Felix
Dolores Acuna Felix, 85, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born April 4, 1916, in California. A resident for 10 months, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by four sons, Conrado, Robert, Albert and Richard; three daughters, Celia, Gloria and Maria; 21 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.
William B. Fried
William B. Fried, 87, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 28, 1914, in Warsaw, Poland. A resident for 13 years, he was a retired government contract negotiator and a World War II Navy veteran.
He is survived by three daughters, Bettina J. Surfas of Santa Ana, Calif., Yetta J. DeHart of Pleasanton, Calif., and Abbe Fried Stashower of Seattle; one sister, Betty Roberts of Silver Spring, Md.; and three grandchildren.
Graveside services were scheduled at 3 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.
Frances Rose Golchuk
Frances Rose Golchuk, 71, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 29, 1929, in Wallington, N.J. A resident for 12 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Julius; one daughter, Frances Brown of Las Vegas; one son, Bruce Golchuk of Fairfield, N.J.; three brothers, Edward Landers of Peabody, Mass., Bobby Hulburt of Florida and Bruno Swiston of New Jersey; two sisters, Pauline Hulburt and Veronica Swiston, both of Florida; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 5 p.m. until a 7 p.m. rosary Tuesday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday in Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 5485 E. Charleston Blvd. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.
Phyllis C. Spellman
Phyllis C. Spellman, 78, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born May 7, 1923, in Maldin, Wash. A resident for eight years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Del D.; three sons, Steven Spellman and Thomas Spellman, both of Las Vegas, and Douglas Spellman of Washington state; and five grandchildren.
Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.
