Comdex refines security

Monday, Nov. 5, 2001 | 10:45 a.m.

Comdex organizers today said they loosened some of the security measures they announced last week.

Visitors to the Las Vegas computer industry show Nov. 11-16 will be allowed to check their bags or briefcases on the premises, but still will not be allowed to carry them on the trade show floor.

In another change from last week, cabs and limousines will be allowed to drive up to the Las Vegas Convention Center to drop off visitors as in past years, but the cars will be subject to security checks.

These extra security measures are being taken in light of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. Comdex and local law enforcement officials say there have not been any specific threats against the trade show.
