Mark A. Balmer
Mark A. Balmer, 48, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born June 10, 1953, in Henderson. A lifelong Southern Nevada resident, he was a retired laborer in the construction industry and a member of Local 872.
He is survived by his wife, Eloise; three sons, Matthew Balmer of Wallingford, Conn., Chris Balmer and Mike Balmer, both of Las Vegas; one brother, Steve Balmer of Salt Lake City; and one sister, Carol Vier of Las Vegas.
Visitation is scheduled noon-7 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Additional visitation will be one hour prior to 2 p.m. services Sunday. Graveside services will follow.
The family suggests donations to the American Lung Association, 3375 Glen Ave., No. 7, Las Vegas, NV 89121.
Luther Harold Broadus
Luther Harold Broadus, 63, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 18, 1938, in Independence, Mo. A resident for five months, he was a general laborer and a Navy veteran.
He is survived by one son, Ken Broadus Jr., of Las Vegas; and one grandchild.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North.
Maria 'Jellie' Butiong
Maria "Jellie" Butiong, 56, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born July 23, 1945, in the Philippines. A resident for seven years, she was a retired manager for a communications company and a member of the Eternal Father Prayer group.
She is survived by her mother, Soledad Butiong of Las Vegas; and two brothers, Carlos Butiong of Las Vegas and Rod Butiong of Itasca, Ill.
Visitation is scheduled 1-8 p.m. with a 6 p.m. rosary Saturday and 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Sunday with a 6 p.m. rosary. Devine Mercy Chaplet services are scheduled at 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday in St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church, 1111 Michael Way. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.
John Conner
John Conner, 63, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospice. He was born July 27, 1938, in Tennessee. A resident for 11 years, he was an Air Force mechanic.
He is survived by his wife, Bobbie; one son Keith; two daughters, Michele and Kimberly; two brothers, Richard and Gary; two sisters, Margaret and Barbara; and three grandchildren.

Penny Rene Curell
Penny Rene Curell, 40, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born March 24, 1961, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, she was a financial service representative for the Nevada Federal Credit Union.
She is survived by her husband, Robert; two daughters, Kristina S. Layne and Reonna L. Layne, two sons, Joseph B. Layne and Justin E. Layne, her mother, Louella Frei, and one sister, Judy Clucas, all of Las Vegas.
Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. Saturday in Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd. Services will be 10 a.m. Sunday in Davis Funeral Home. Burial will be in Santa Clara, Utah.
Joan Dillan
Joan Dillan, 65, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 23, 1936, in Del Ray Beach, Fla. A resident for 43 years, she was a business investments director for a CPA firm, and a member of the Girls and Boys Club, Toastmasters, and Police Athletic League.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Central Christian Church, 1001 New Beginnings Drive, Henderson. Burial will be private.
The family suggests donations to the Police Athletic League, 3811 W. Charleston Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89102.
Ernie Falci
Ernie Falci, 71, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 15, 1930, in Madison, Wis. A resident for 20 years, he was a retired restaurant manager and a Korean War veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Carmela; one son, Dean Falci of Las Vegas; two daughters, Jean Pregman of Salt Lake City and Christine Jenkins of Fountain Valley, Calif.; two sisters, Ann Caruso of Las Vegas Catherine Disalvo of Madison; one brother, Sam Falci of Madison; and two grandchildren.
A memorial service is scheduled 4 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.
The family suggests donations to the American Diabetes Association, 2785 E. Desert Inn Road, Suite 140, Las Vegas, NV 89121.
Nick Farese
Nick Farese, 75, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born April 3, 1926, in Jersey City, N.J. A resident for five years, he was a retired landscaper.
He is survived by his wife, Rose; one daughter, Angela Stoll of Las Vegas; one brother, Carmen Farese of Avenel; and two grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday in Thomas More Catholic Church, 130 N. Pecos Road, Henderson.

Deloras Jean Fields
Deloras Jean Fields, 54, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Feb. 8, 1947, in Ohio. A resident for six years, she was a property management accountant and a member of Job's Daughters.
She is survived by one brother, C. Jeffrey.

John David Fine
John David Fine, 48, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 21, 1953, in Inglewood, Calif. A resident for 37 years, he was a construction and concrete contractor and avid fisherman.
He is survived by one daughter, Jessica Leigh Fine, and one son, Jason Richard Fine, both of Las Vegas; six sisters, Valerie G. Fine of Elko, Amelia J. Fine of Camano Island, Wash., Marianne Robbins of Yelm, Wash., Nancy C. Ashbaugh of Las Vegas and Carolyn A. Short and Virginia J. Fine, both of Sunnyvale, Calif.
Services are scheduled 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1811 Pueblo Vista Drive.

Josephine G. Halverson
Josephine G. Halverson, 88, died Saturday in Puyallup, Wash. Born March 6, 1913, in Chicago. A former longtime Las Vegas resident, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by three sons, Kenneth Halverson of Puyallup, Greg Halverson of West Dunree, Ill., and Henry Halverson of Collinsville, Ill.; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Services were scheduled at 2 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will be in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
Kenneth Henry Harrison
Kenneth Henry Harrison, 79, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 4, 1922, in Illinois. A resident for 33 years, he owned Poodles and Pals dog grooming.
He is survived by his wife, Alma R. Harrison; one son, Kenneth L. Harrison; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Daniel Kaplan
Daniel Kaplan, 80, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 26, 1921, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for five years, he was a photographer and an Army veteran.
He is survived by one son, Mark; two daughters, Lisa and Dana; one brother, Lou; three sisters, Lily, Dorothy and Anita.

Jerry Keith
Jerry Keith, 59, of Henderson died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 7, 1941, in Des Moines, Iowa. A resident for five years, he was a retired carpet salesman.
He is survived by his wife, Aija; two sons, Brien Keith and Steve Keith, both of Henderson; and two grandchildren.
Lakeside services were scheduled 2 p.m. today at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.
Alton O. Kennedy
Alton O. Kennedy, 77, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 22, 1924,in Baltimore. A resident for 38 years, he was an accountant for an electrical company.
He is survived by his wife, Gwendolyn; two sons, Steve Kennedy and Mark Kennedy, both of Las Vegas; two daughters, Kathleen Quintana of Kansas City, Mo., and Joyce Moberg of Pensacola, Fla.; 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses, 5546 W. Oakey Blvd. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.
Ferne Leila Locke
Ferne Leila Locke, 89, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 29, 1912, in Canada. A resident for 17 years, she was an accountant for Seven Up.
She is survived by one brother, Curtis Twedt of Spirit Lake, Iowa.
Visitation is scheduled 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. services Saturday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.
Antonio Lourenco
Antonio Lourenco, 88, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 31, 1912, in Pittsfield, Mass. A resident for 36 years, he was a retired hotel gardner and a member of Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his wife, Maria; and two sisters, Lucinda Andrade and Anita Pereira, both of Portugal.
Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, Downtown. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., handled arrangements.
David J. Micanko
David J. Micanko, 52, of Las Vegas died Oct. 26 in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 28, 1948, in New Jersey. He was a resident for many years.
He is survived by one son, David J. Micanko of Trenton, N.J.; and one sister, Patricia Ginther of Pennington, N.J.

Antony Moraitis, 23, of Henderson died Sunday in Atlantic City, N.J. He was born April 5, 1978, in Santa Monica, Calif.
He is survived by one son, Canyon Jupiter Frerrer of North Carolina; one daughter, Marina Rain Moraitis of Henderson; his mother, Marina Kazantzi Moraitis of Henderson; his father, Constanine Moraitis of Lakewood, Calif.; and two sisters, Katherine Kakallis of Henderson and Dina Moraitis of California.
Visitation is scheduled 6-8 p.m. today and 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. services Saturday in Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson. Burial will be in Paradise Memorial Gardens.
Catherine A. Passos
Catherine A. Passos, 75, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born May 28, 1926, in Maui, Hawaii. A resident for one year, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by one daughter, Kathy M. Holloway of Vancouver, Wash.; three sons, James S. Passos of Las Vegas, Norman J. Passos of Kona, Hawaii, and William W. Passos of Honolulu; three brothers, John Alves Jr. of Honolulu, Raymond Domingo of San Francisco and Abe Domingo of San Jose, Calif.; one sister, Susan Fontillas of Honolulu; and seven grandchildren.
No services are scheduled. Burial will be in Waipahu, Hawaii. Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., handled arrangements.
Christina Scarione
Christina Scarione, 80, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Oct. 12, 1921, in Queens, N.Y. A resident for 22 years, she was a beauty consultant.
She is survived by two daughters, Lois Prescia and Janis Garganese, both of Las Vegas; eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Mass was scheduled at 3 p.m. today in St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church, 1111 Michael Way.
Eunice C. Tucker
Eunice C. Tucker, 90, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born April 6, 1911, in Waish County, N.D. A resident for 23 years, she was a security operator for McCarran International Airport and a long distance operator for Bell Telephone in Portland, Ore.
She is survived by two sons, Raymond Ingle of Maple Valley, Wash., and Duane G. Ingle of Federal Way, Wash.; and three grandchildren.
Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., is handling private arrangements.
