International Game Technology announced Wednesday it has acquired a maker of casino player tracking systems.
IGT did not disclose the price it paid for Tennecom Gaming Solutions LLC, based in Nashville, Tenn. Four of the company's five employees have taken jobs at IGT; the fifth will be retained for several months as a consultant.
Tennecom sells a suite of products designed to help casinos track table game activity, such as how much a player has bought in chips for the year to date, or a detailed shift report for all table games within a casino. Customers using the company's products include the Venetian, Bally's Las Vegas, Paris Las Vegas and Foxwoods in Connecticut.
"Tennecom's technology will enhance IGT's product offering on the player tracking side," said Rich Pennington, IGT's senior vice president of product management. "We've made this acquisition in response to our casino customers' interest in the range of possibilities and conveniences it offers."
