Police have arrested a 24-year-old man in connection with the fatal shooting of a 20-year-old Henderson resident, who was found shot in the head at his apartment Saturday.
Jeremy Buckles, a Henderson resident, was arrested Wednesday afternoon and charged in the slaying of Norman Edward Byers.
Buckles was at police headquarters answering questions for detectives when he was arrested, police spokeswoman Valerie Klein said.
Byers was shot about 5 p.m. Saturday at the Morrell Park Apartments, 525 Harris St., near Boulder Highway and Basic Road. Byers died at University Medical Center Tuesday afternoon after undergoing extensive brain surgery, Klein said.
An arrest warrant has been issued for Jeff B. Canterbury, 21, who is also wanted in connection with the homicide. Canterbury is believed to be in the Las Vegas area and is considered armed and dangerous, Klein said.
Canterbury is white, 5 feet 11 inches tall, 175 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. He has tattoos on both arms.
Anyone with information on Canterbury's whereabouts is asked to call police at 565-2009 or Secret Witness at 385-5555.
