Because of incorrect information provided to the Sun, a story in Wednesday's A-section incorrectly reported that Rep. Shelley Berkley,D-Nev., plans to introduce a bill that would divert the money appropriated by Congress each year from spending on Yucca Mountain to other waste-management technology research. The bill would not "divert" that money. That money, including $445 million proposed this year, would dry up as the Yucca project was abandoned. The bill would divert money in the nation's multibillion-dollar Nuclear Waste Fund , which is fed by nuclear utility ratepayers. The Sun regrets the error.

The Sun corrects its errors. If you find a mistake, call 385-3111 to report it.
