Informational program planned
An informational program about the proposed disposal of nuclear waste at Yucca Mountain will begin 7:30 p.m. Monday at Congregation Ner Tamid, 2761 Emerson Ave.
The program is free of charge, and open to the entire community. No RSVP is required. A panel of speakers will share facts about the project and its impact on the Las Vegas Valley.

Contest applications due by Friday
The Southern Nevada Water Authority is accepting applications for the 2001 Landscape Awards. The application deadline is Friday.
The awards honor professional and homeowner designed landscapes that are both beautiful and water-efficient.
