The president of Nevada Power Co. will retire from the company next week for health reasons.
Steve Rigazio, who was diagnosed two years ago with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, commonly known as Lou Gehrig's disease, will leave the company June 1 and will remain as an adviser to Nevada Power's parent company, Sierra Pacific Resources Inc.
Rigazio, who joined the company in 1984, was named president last year.
A new president is expected to be named early next month.
