Casino developer Steve Wynn is looking for new partners for the megaresort he plans at the site of his Desert Inn resort on the Las Vegas Strip, Reuters News Service reported.
Wynn's partner Aruze Corp., a Japanese slot maker, is bogged down in legal trouble in Japan over allegations it concealed taxable income there.
Wynn has declined comment on his relationship with Aruze since its tax troubles came to light, though Aruze would face Nevada gaming licensing difficulties if the tax charges are proven.
Companies Wynn has approached about a partnership include hotel operators Marriott International Inc. and Loews Corp., both of which said no, Reuters reported, citing sources it declined to identify.
Reuters also quoted a source as saying that besides the hotel and gaming components, the development will include an office park.
