LAKE MEAD: Anglers are reporting to the Nevada Division of Wildlife that the Overton Arm has been producing some of the finest action for striped bass that has been found in that part of the lake in a number of years.

Boaters who have been fishing in the Overton Arm have been catching stripers that range from two to four pounds south of Meat Hole, in the Virgin Bowl, Fish Island and the Muddy River. Most of the anglers are using anchovies or sardines to catch the fish. Areas that have produced stripers recently in the Boulder Basin have been Black Island, Boxcar Cove, Hemenway Harbor and the 33 Hole.

Good fishing for channel catfish continues to be found in the Overton Arm with most of the angler attention being given to the Virgin Bowl and Muddy River.

LAKE MOHAVE: Mike Burrell, NDOW biologist, said anglers continue to find some action for small stripers in the narrows above Cottonwood Cove. There has been some action as well for shore anglers who have been fishing at night around Cottonwood.

The action has only been fair for rainbow trout following the weekly plants at Willow Beach. Plans call for the next plant to take place today.
