Catherine Ann Avila
Catherine Ann Avila, 37, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 22, 1963, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Tony III; three daughters, Cheyenne Avila of Las Vegas, Brittany Stahl of Phoenix and Rebecca Avila of Orem, Utah; one son, Christopher Avila IV of Orem; her father, John Runnells, her mother and stepfather, Marlene and Bob Leydecker, and one brother, LeRoy Runnells, all of Las Vegas.
Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Palm Memorial Park.
Wendell 'Dean' Chapman
Wendell "Dean" Chapman, 72, of Henderson died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 28, 1929, in Elwood City, Pa. A resident for 30 years, he was a retired mail clerk for the U.S. Postal Service, a retired Air Force master sergeant who served 22 years and a member of the Elks in Boulder City.
He is survived by his wife, Maria; two daughters, Kathy Calendar of Richmond, Va., and Karen Chapman of New York state; two sons, Neil Chapman of New York and William Chapman of Maryland; three stepdaughters, Irma Hooks of Bermuda, Maria Huffington of Alvin, Texas, and Kim Vanderbloom of Boulder City; three stepsons, Maurice Hernandez of Las Vegas and Leo Hernandez and Willfredo Torres, both of Henderson; and 11 grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 2 p.m. services Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
Ann Marie Curcio
Ann Marie Curcio, 63, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 26, 1937, in California. A resident for 35 years, she was a slot cage cashier for 33 years at the Sahara hotel.
She is survived by four daughters, Kathy Theobald, Nancy Berry, Lisa Long and Leslie Putman; two sisters, Myrtle Olsen and Melinda Stephens; and nine grandchildren.
Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday in Grace Evangelical Free Church, 920 S. Decatur Blvd. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.
Anna K. Felgar
Anna K. Felgar, 83, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 5, 1917, in Pennsylvania. A resident for many years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by two sons, Vince Felgar and Stephen Felgar, both of Las Vegas.
No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Pennsylvania. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
Rita Feltus
Rita Feltus, 45, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born July 20, 1955, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by one son, Renall Nelson, and one daughter, Ulander (Puswack) Feltus, both of Las Vegas; four sisters; two brothers; her grandparents, Earlie Perkins and Hurvie and Gloria Feltus; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Harrison-Ross Mortuaries, 2071 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in New Revelation Missionary Baptist Church, 615 W. Van Buren Ave. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
James Dean Freeman
James Dean Freeman, 20, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born March 12, 1981, in Las Vegas. A resident for many years, he was a computer analyst in the Air Force.
He is survived by his mother, Shermone Freeman of Las Vegas.
Visitation will be private. Burial will be in Detroit. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
Margaret E. Jones
Margaret E. Jones, 75, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 4, 1925, in Michigan. A resident for 12 years, she was an adjudicator for the Veterans Administration.
She is survived by one daughter, Nannette Severy of Las Vegas; two sons, A. Mitch Jones of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Peter V. Jones of Maysville, Ky.; one brother, Robert Yahrmarkt of Midland, Mich.; and five grandsons.
Mass will be celebrated 1 p.m. Saturday in St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church, 1111 Michael Way. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.
Christine Ethel Joseph
Christine Ethel Joseph, 91, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 30, 1909, in Tina, Mo. A resident for 59 years, she was a bookkeeper and a member of the Eagles Auxiliary in Henderson.
She is survived by two sons, Hollis Don Brecheisen of Woodlawn, Wash., and Lawrence Brecheisen of Las Vegas; one daughter, Christine June Chandler of Las Vegas; one sister, Cenia G. Bengerman of Ottawa, Kan.; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 9-10:30 a.m. Friday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Mable Leona Lindgren
Mable Leona Lindgren, 91, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born May 10, 1910, in Anthon, Iowa. A resident for seven years, she was a retired retail clerk.
She is survived by one son, Jack Daugherty of Gulfport, Miss.; one daughter, Judy Schmale of Las Vegas; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Josie Montoya
Josie Montoya, 87, of West Valley City, Utah, died Monday in a local hospital. She was born Feb. 28, 1914, in Chilili, N.M. A former Las Vegas resident from 1955 to 1996, she was a homemaker and a longtime "Grandmother" for the Las Vegas Mental Health Center.
She is survived by two daughters, Julie Hosie of West Valley City and Dorene Canez of Las Vegas; four sons, Larry Michael Montoya of Las Vegas, Robert Montoya of Manteca, Calif., Anthony Montoya of San Diego and Gilbert Montoya of Mission Viejo, Calif.; 19 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was scheduled 3 p.m.-6:30 p.m. today with a 6 p.m. vigil in Christ the King Church, 4925 S. Torrey Pines Drive. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Christ the King Church. Burial will follow at 11:30 a.m. Friday in Palm Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.
Kathy L. (Albritton) Niekrenz
Kathy L. (Albritton) Niekrenz, 50, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 30, 1951, in Pittsburgh. A resident for 12 years, she was a customer service representative in the finance industry.
She is survived by her husband, James D.; two stepdaughters, Jill Niekrenz of Houston and Trena Niekrenz Boone of Mount Vernon, Ill.; one stepson, Matt Niekrenz of Spring Hill, Fla.; and one brother, Ken Geiger of Garland, Texas.

Muriel K. Oran, 75, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Feb. 9, 1929, in New York. A resident for 10 years, she was in risk management at UCLA Medical Center.
She is survived by her husband, Edward; one daughter, Susan Aran; and three grandchildren.

Bernard 'Buddy' Pollack
Bernard "Buddy" Pollack, 76, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 29, 1924, in Pennsylvania. A resident for six years, he was a steel manufacturer, an Army veteran, a member of the Jewish War Veterans, Masons, Elks and Lions Club.
He is survived by his wife, Hannah; one son, Preston Mark Pollack of Liberty, N.Y.; one daughter, Terry Susan Cohen of Prescott, Ariz.; one sister, Halaine Lang of Palm Desert, Calif.; and two grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens, 7251 W. Lone Mountain Road.
Eleanor Silcox
Eleanor Silcox, 78, of Incline Village died Sunday in Burlingame, Calif. She was born Feb. 14, 1923, in Fresno, Calif. A former Las Vegas resident for 33 years, she was a retired registered nurse, a World War II Army veteran who served in the China-Burma-India theater.
She is survived by her husband, William; two sons, Donald Silcox and James Silcox, both of Las Vegas; two daughters, Janice Ackerman of Reno and Frances Silcox of Moraga Hills, Calif.; and 14 grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Mass will be celebrated noon Saturday in St. Viator Catholic Church, 2461 E. Flamingo Road. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Jeannie Skinner, 76, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospice. She was born Aug. 4, 1924, in Arkansas. A resident for 20 years, she was a homemaker and a member of the Gold Prospectors Mining Association.
She is survived by one son, Roy B. Skinner; one daughter, Sheila K. Nelson; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Elizabeth 'Betty' Smith
Elizabeth "Betty" Smith, 67, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. She was born Feb. 16, 1934, in the Bronx, N.Y. A resident for 35 years, she retired as a Las Vegas Fire Department dispatcher after 19 years.
She is survived by three sons, James Smith and Sam Smith, both of Las Vegas, and Matthew Smith of Springfield, Mo.; three daughters, Susan Smith and Helen Smith, both of Las Vegas, and Nancy Nicks of Haley, Idaho; two half-sisters, Gloria Boyer of Chicago and Marcia Williams of New York City; and eight grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will be private.

Kathleen Sweetin, 61, of Las Vegas died Sunday. She was born June 17, 1939, in Slayton, Minn. A resident for many years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Clement.

Delores Viola Tomlinson, 70, of North Las Vegas died Sunday in North Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 24, 1931, in Little Canada, Minn. A resident for four months, she was a homemaker and a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
She is survived by four sons, Dale Tomlinson Jr. of Las Vegas, Paul Tomlinson of Spring Hill, Fla., Clinton McFarlin of Olla, Wash., and Myron Urman of St. Paul, Minn.; one daughter, Sheila Paetow of Lake Bronson, Minn.; one brother, Kenneth Urman of St. Paul; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Colonel Ward; four daughters, Christine Cantrell and Lynn Ward, both of Las Vegas, Virginia Heckart of Tacoma, Wash., and Jill Osterman of Pahrump; three sons, Lloyd Dacus and Gregory Ward, both of Las Vegas, and Thomas Dacus of Tacoma; 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Watson Jr. and Kendal Watson, both of Las Vegas; five daughters, Gail Watson-Harrison, Sandra Watson-Cameron, Aisha Hays and Yolanda Watson, all of Las Vegas, and Alesia Watson-Janieke of Salt Lake City; and three brothers, James L. Watson of Youngstown, Ohio, Robert L. King of New Orleans and Thomas King of Las Vegas.
