Thursday, May 24, 2001 | 10:29 a.m.

Art Manteris, who has held sports book management positions in some of Las Vegas' best known casinos, was named vice president of race and sports at Station Casinos Inc.

In his new role, Manteris will oversee race and sports book operations at Station Casinos' Southern Nevada properties.

Manteris, who helped develop the Hilton SuperBook when he joined the Las Vegas Hilton staff in 1986, also held positions at Caesars Palace, the Barbary Coast and the Stardust hotel-casinos.

Rob Terry, director of race and sports for Station, will continue in that role during a transition period and then will become a member of the company's operations team. Terry was promoted to director of race and sports in 1999 after serving in a number of positions with the company.
