Letter: Tax cut fuels economy for rich
Thursday, May 24, 2001 | 9:39 a.m.
President Bush wants taxpayers to take their tax cut and use it to pay for the higher price of gasoline. Some estimates are that prices will rise to nearly $3 per gallon. Now I see the whole picture. The lion's share of the tax cut goes to the wealthiest of Americans. The part that goes to the rest of us is carved out to be passed through to Bush/Cheney friends in the oil and gas business.
