Because of an error by the Sun, a story on Wednesday's front page about the national Kids Count survey was misleading. The survey, which ranked states based on the quality of childrens' lives, placed Nevada 49th in the rate of 16- to 19-year-olds who are school dropouts, 50th in teen deaths and 40th in births to teens. Nevada had among the highest rates in those categories in the nation. The Sun regrets the error.
