Civic leader named to Nevada Taxicab Authority

Gov. Kenny Guinn appointed Joanna Wesley-Winn to the state Taxicab Authority. She succeeds Adriana Escobar-Chanos, who was appointed to the state Public Service Commission.
Wesley-Winn is a 49-year resident of Las Vegas and has been involved in a number of civic activities.
She is a former vice president of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Committee; former chairwoman of the West Las Vegas Neighborhood Advisory Board; a former member of the Boys and Girls Club of America; past president of the PTA of Lincoln Elementary School and former co-chair of the North Las Vegas Citizens Advisory Board.
