BLM pays state $2.9 million

CARSON CITY -- Gov. Kenny Guinn on Tuesday accepted a $2.9 million payment from the Bureau of Land Management as the state's share of the sale of federal land in Clark County.
Robert Abby, state director of the BLM, said the agency sold 20 parcels this month to private companies for $58 million. Of that, 5 percent is targeted for the state permanent school fund.
