Letter: Simple threats might result in lower gas prices
Friday, May 18, 2001 | 4:11 a.m.
One sure way to get lower oil prices is for President Bush to call the royalty in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia and tell them he's pulling out 10 percent of our troops each month until the price of oil stabilizes.
Then the gasoline taxes -- federal, state and county -- should be reduced for at least six months.
This would help stimulate the economy until the tax break takes effect.
