Adults and kids

The monthly Poets' Corner, which features established poets and open mic participants, will be at 7:30 p.m. today at West Las Vegas Arts Center, 947 W. Lake Mead Blvd. A young Poets' Corner for children will be from noon-1 p.m. Saturday. Admission is free. Call 229-4800.

Garden tour

The American Society of Landscape Architects will host its second annual Las Vegas Valley Garden Tour, featuring five gardens and yards designed by local landscape architects, from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $15. Call 253-9390.

Rainbow springs

Spring Mountain Ranch State Park in the Red Rock Canyon Conservation Area will host a strenuous eight-hour group hike to the top of a cliff in Lovell Canyon at 9 a.m. Saturday. Lunch, snacks and water should be brought. Sturdy shoes required. The group will meet in the upper parking lot at the ranch, then caravan to Spring Mountain Pass. Nevada artifacts

A Southern Nevada History & Archaeological Festival will be from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday at the Desert Demonstration Gardens, 3701 W. Alta Drive. Artifacts and historical photographs will be on display. Nevada Archaeological Association will give tool-making demonstrations. Admission is free.

The Southern Nevada Rock Art Enthusiasts will host a tour Sunday of rock art sites in Spring Mountains. For more information, call 457-8690.

In honor of International Museum Day, the Las Vegas Natural History Museum, 900 Las Vegas Blvd. North., and the Lied Discovery Children's Museum, 833 Las Vegas Blvd. North., are offering free admission Saturday to their museums for children ages 12 and under. Hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. daily at the Las Vegas Natural History Museum, and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Lied Discovery Children's Museum.

Arts outside

An outdoor arts and crafts fair, featuring crafts, music and refreshments, will be from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday in Lorenzi Park at the Derfelt Senior Center, on West Washington Avenue, near South Valley View. Admission is free.

Cars, stars, guitars

SICO, a 6-foot-tall, lifelike robot celebrity that speaks seven languages and dances, will meet with shoppers from 2-6 p.m. Saturday at Belz Factory Outlet World on Las Vegas Boulevard South. SICO has appeared on NBC's "Days of Our Lives" and "Benson" and the movie "Rocky IV."
