Vance Royce Christensen

Vance Royce Christensen, 65, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born May 16, 1935, in Utah. A resident for 12 years, he was an engineer in the construction industry and an Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon; two sons, Steven and Ryan; five brothers, Dennis, Wesley, Homer, Ross and Von; and two grandchildren.

Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, has arranged private services.

Louise Mary Coulson

Louise Mary Coulson, 86, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 21, 1914, in Montrose, Pa. A resident for 16 years, she was a retired owner-operator of a hair-care establishment.

She is survived by two daughters, Linda Cahoon of Las Vegas and Penny Bonner of Laughlin; three sons, Cao Ho and Tim Ho, both of Garden Grove, Calif., and Joe Coulson Jr. of Las Vegas; one stepson, J.D. Lytle of Los Angeles; one brother, Edward McDowell of Huntington, Pa.; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 9-10 a.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Donald C. Dixon

Donald C. Dixon, 73, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 6, 1928, in Raven, Va. A resident for 14 years, he was a switchman and a Korean War Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Betty; two sons, Steve Dixon of Texas and Scott Dixon of Ohio; two sisters, Tommy Lawson and Virginia Bleedlove, both of Virginia.

Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling private arrangements.

Michael Ely

Michael Ely, 38, of Granite City, Ill., died Tuesday. He was born March 25, 1963, in La Mirada, Calif. A former Las Vegas resident for five years, he was an assistant pastor.

He is survived by one son, Michael R. Ely Jr. of Bethalto, Ill.; his parents, Walter and Dorothy Ely of Las Vegas; and one brother, Ron Ely of Orange, Calif.

Visitation is scheduled 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Palm Chapel, Eastern. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Antonio J. Figueredo Sr.

Antonio J. Figueredo Sr., 90, of Henderson died Wednesday in a local care center. He was born Sept. 26, 1910, in Cuba. A resident for 37 years, he was a retired hotel waiter.

He is survived by his wife, Emilia; one sister; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-8 p.m. Friday with a 7 p.m. prayer service in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Palm Chapel, Eastern. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Marian Caiquep Galo

Marian Caiquep Galo, 70, of Henderson died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 21, 1931, in Honolulu. A resident for 10 years, she was a banquet waitress at various Honolulu hotels for 30 years and was a member of the Binalonan Club of Hawaii and Visayan Club of Hawaii.

She is survived by her husband, Eulario M.; one daughter, Elizabeth A. Lishman of Henderson; one son, Clifford K. Lishman of Honolulu; two sisters, Felomina Erickson and Helen Bergado, both of Honolulu; and four grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4-8 p.m. Friday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens.

Elner Harris

Elner Harris, 89, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospice. She was born July 25, 1911, in Tallulah, La. A resident for 58 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by three daughters, Eddie Mae Bunch and Olive Pugh, both of Las Vegas, and Mabel Boswell of Lakeland, Fla.; four sons, James Harris Jr., Wilber Harris, John Harris and Donald Harris, and two brothers, Matthew Phillips and Robert Phillips, all of Las Vegas; six sisters, Veola Phillips, Mary Phillips, Rosie Phillips and Earlean Brown, all of Las Vegas, Minnie Pittman of San Francisco and Mable Henderson of Oakland, Calif.; 28 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. services Friday in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Burial will follow in Eden Vale Memorial Park.

Kristin Dawn Hildebrand

Kristin Dawn Hildebrand, 32, of North Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Nov. 28, 1968, in Orange, Calif. A resident for 30 years, she was a plumber's assistant for the Clark County School District.

She is survived by her mother, Patricia Hildebrand of Las Vegas; her mother and stepfather, Harry and Shirley Hildebrand of Henderson; one sister, Rory Watkins of Las Vegas; two brothers, Kevin Heebner of Henderson and Kenneth Heebner of West Point, N.Y.; and her grandmother, Pauline King of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 3 p.m. service Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Burial will be private.

Marilyn Eileen Jure

Marilyn Eileen Jure, 71, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 25, 1929, in Harlan, Iowa. A resident for 25 years, she was a retired case worker for the state of Nevada.

She is survived by one daughter, Denise S. Hollenbaugh of Las Vegas; one son, John D. Jure; one brother, Douglas N. Halloran of Lake Isabella, Calif.; and one grandson.

Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

S. Buster Kahakua

S. Buster Kahakua, 67, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 23, 1933, in Hilo, Hawaii. A resident for five years, he was a retired field supervisor for the National Park Service and a Korean War and Vietnam War disabled Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Bernice Navarre Kahakua; one daughter, Philialoha Kahakua of Las Vegas; five sisters, Lani Wong of Anahola, Hawaii, Keala Pajimola and Lei Kimura, both of Waimea, Hawaii, Ella Florance of Waianae, Hawaii, and Patsy Navares of Laie Hawaii; one brother, Able Kahakua of Lanai City, Hawaii; and one granddaughter.

Agnes D. Keranen

Agnes D. Keranen, 74, of Boulder City died Tuesday in Boulder City. She was born Dec. 4, 1926, in Scranton, Pa. A resident for 51 years, she was a retired travel clerk for the Bureau of Reclamation.

She is survived by her husband, Dewey; two daughters, Peggy Morley and Patricia Harris, both of Lancaster, Calif.; four sons, James Morley and Donald Morley, both of Ketchum, Idaho, Douglas Morley of Bozeman, Mont., and David Morley of Boise, Idaho; one sister, Margaret Henrie of Wellington, Utah; 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Earl McDonald

Earl McDonald, 74, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born June 21, 1926, in Prentis, Miss. A resident for 60 years, he was an electrical inspector for the city of Las Vegas, an Army veteran, a member of the Masons and the Elks.

He is survived by his companion and ex-wife, Maria Harris McDonald; one son, Jefferson; five daughters, Paula, Suziliene, Jerushia, Maria and Tracey; one brother, Ricky; one sister, Mildred; 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Services will be Monday at Greater St. James Baptist Church, 316 Madison Ave. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Helen J. Melton

Helen J. Melton, 92, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born July 11, 1908, in Colorado Springs, Colo. A resident for 35 years, she was a school nurse.

She is survived by two sons, Dennis Bauer of Mexico and Byron Bauer of Glendale, Calif.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Memory Gardens. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Michael Christian Munoz

Michael Christian Munoz, 10, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Zion National Park. He was born March 11, 1991, in Las Vegas.

He is survived by his parents, Maria J. and George Munoz, two brothers, Kenneth Munoz and Ryan Munoz, all of Las Vegas; and his grandparents, Myrna and Agustin Mangila Jr. of the Philippines, Escolastiza Munoz of Las Vegas and Jose Munoz of California.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today and 8 a.m.-7 p.m. Friday and Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 3 p.m. Sunday in Palm Chapel, Eastern. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Josephine Sherbondy

Josephine Sherbondy, 73, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 2, 1927, in Buffalo, N.Y. A resident for 23 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Harry; three daughters, Nancy Benton, Patricia O'Connor and Rosemarie Sherbondy, and one son, Jay Sherbondy Jr., all of Las Vegas; and four grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Monday at Desert Inn Estates, 5542 Tres Piedras St., No. 3. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Corinne E. Slade

Corinne E. Slade, 88, of Henderson died Tuesday in Henderson. She was born Jan. 17, 1913, in Los Angeles. A resident for 12 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two sons, Bud Slade of Henderson and Ronald Slade of Las Vegas; one daughter, Marilyn Patterson of Henderson; eight grandchildren and seven grandchildren.

Dorothea Tantimonaco

Dorothea Tantimonaco, 75, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local convalescent center. She was born July 13, 1925, in Derby, Conn. A resident for 3 1/2 years, she was a section manager for an aircraft manufacturer.

She is survived by her husband, Pat.

Viola Thomas-Shoemaker

Viola Thomas-Shoemaker, 74, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospice. She was born Sept. 25, 1926, in Pittsburg, Calif. A resident for 39 years, she was a retired bank loan officer.

She is survived by two sons, James Thomas and Ken Thomas, and four stepsons, Marty Shoemaker, Eddy Shoemaker, Kenny Shoemaker and Leonard Shoemaker, all of Las Vegas; two stepdaughters, Gail Hembree of Ogden, Utah, and Debra Lochner of Las Vegas; 22 grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

Visitation will be 2 p.m.-7 p.m. Friday at Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Palm, followed by burial in Palm Memorial Park.

Michael Tomsich

Michael Tomsich, 56, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 30, 1944, in Ely, Minn. A resident for 15 years, he was a retired Army major, Vietnam War veteran and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Ely.

He is survived by his wife, Carol; one daughter, Traci Paniagua, one son, Aaron Tomsich, and one stepson, James Sinor, all of Las Vegas; two stepdaughters, Michelle Sinor of Las Vegas and Elizabeth Carter of Deltona, Fla.; one sister, Susie Wavrin of Ely; one brother, Robert Tomsich of Litteton, Colo.; and 10 grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Graveside services will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Henderson.
