SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- These days the strange logo and new nickname aren't the only things alien about the Las Vegas 51s. So is winning.
Rick Sofield's squad dropped its Pacific Coast League-leading 24th game here on Tuesday afternoon at Raley Field, 5-3, to the Sacramento RiverCats.
Third baseman Ryan Lane's bases-loaded double off the center-field fence in the bottom of the eighth off normally effective closer Jim Dougherty (0-2) drove in two runs to break a 3-3 tie and gave PCL South Division-leading Sacramento (20-19) its third straight win over the 51s (15-24).
The good news for the 51s? They're off today before opening an eight-game homestand on Thursday night at Cashman Field against Fresno.
