Tuesday, May 15, 2001 | 10:20 a.m.

A Metro Police traffic officer was in serious condition this morning after his motorcycle collided with a car in northwest Las Vegas Monday night.

Police said Officer Shawn Allen ran into the right side of a 2000 Jaguar driven by Susan Aronson, 60, who is accused of failing to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Buffalo and O'Bannon drives about 6 p.m.

Police said Allen, 35, tried to stop but struck the car. Allen and Aronson were taken to University Medical Center. Aronson suffered from minor injuries, police said.

Allen had injuries to his arms and a hip, and one leg was broken, Lt. Charles Hank said.

The force of the collision crumpled the passenger side of the Jaguar. The driver pulled the car to a stop on the sidewalk at the northwest corner of O'Bannon and Buffalo.

Aronson was issued a ticket for a moving violation, police said.
