Letter: Today’s kids have it too easy

Monday, May 14, 2001 | 11:34 a.m.

Next month I will be 69 years young. I don't know how I made it this far. No one told us about asbestos in our schools, and they were not air conditioned. If one saw cars in the school parking lot they belonged to the teachers, and some of them did not have vehicles.

I write this letter to protest the outrageous conditions at a local high school, forcing students to take an SAT test, without air conditioning. How traumatic, poor babies, to suffer so. The school superintendent should try and make this insult right, by allowing the students to retake the test in proper air conditioned facilities, and the affair should be catered by Wolfgang Puck, to ensure the students are comfortable.
