Fire prompts evacuation of big Tunica casino

ROBINSONVILLE, Miss. -- A blaze broke out today at the Grand Casino and Hotel, sending smoke into the huge gambling hall. There were no reports of injuries.
The fire apparently started at one of the entrances to the casino and near the 1,300-room hotel. The Grand Casino is one of 10 located in Tunica County, about 20 miles south of Memphis, Tenn.
The fire was reported about 7 a.m. Tunica police officer Roger Goff said early reports were that the casino was evacuated and there were no injuries.
