CARSON CITY -- The owner of the Bally's-Paris casino complex in Las Vegas has admitted to the state Gaming Control Board that it violated accounting regulations that are designed to stop laundering of money by players.
Park Place Entertainment Corp.'s Parball Corp. agreed Wednesday to pay a $25,000 fine for the violation.
A board complaint said undercover agents James Misbach and Joe DeCarlo went to the main cage at Bally's Las Vegas-Paris Las Vegas on Dec. 15. Misbach, using a false name of James Lawrence, deposited $5,000, consisting of $4,000 in $20 bills and $1,000 in $100 bills.
State regulations require the casino to give back the same money or return the deposit in the same denominations.
Three days later Misbach returned to the credit window to withdraw the money. The cashier gave him back all $100 bills.
