Letter: Bus shelter is finally removed
Thursday, May 3, 2001 | 8:47 a.m.
Nearly a year ago I wrote my first letter to the Sun regarding a bus shelter that had gone unused at the Boulevard mall. At one time buses made a stop there, but that bus route was discontinued, and bus drivers have told me that was eight years ago.
Since buses no longer stop there, there has been no need to have this shelter there. In all this time I have been writing letters to all concerned to remove this bus shelter and locate it where it is needed. I wrote a letter to the mayor, care of City Hall. Oh, yes, I did get a reply. In May 2000 I received a letter from City Hall that an order was given to the maintenance to remove that bus shelter. It never was removed, and I continued on my effort to get them to move this bus shelter.
More than two weeks ago I made a copy of that letter and sent it to Clark County Commissioner Myrna Williams.
A couple of days ago, while shopping at the mall, I saw that bus shelter was gone. I want to believe that Williams is the reason it was removed.
