Slumping 51s routed 13-3 by the Cannons

The first indication that it might be a long night for the Las Vegas 51s Tuesday in Calgary came during batting practice when a few snow flurries fell on the field at Burns Stadium.
A few hours later, it started raining ... hits, that is, by the host Cannons.
Calgary (11-11) pounded out 19 hits and cruised to a 13-3 Pacific Coast League victory over Rick Sofield's slumping squad, which dropped to 10-14 on the season with its fourth loss in its last five games.
Right fielder Ryan Thompson hit two home runs and second baseman Norberto Martin added a two-run shot as the Cannons scored 11 runs on 12 hits off of Las Vegas starter Onan Masoaka (1-3).
It was the most runs and hits allowed by Las Vegas in a game this season.
Left fielder Bruce Aven, sidelined for most of the first month with side effects from a concussion, had two doubles and scored twice to lead the 51s offensively.
The teams play a doubleheader today starting at 4:05 p.m.
