The trial of a Las Vegas woman accused of striking several tourists with her car as they walked along the Strip has been postponed until June 18.
Juanita Kim McDonald, 25, had been scheduled to go to trial April 2, but District Judge Mark Gibbons agreed to delay the trial at the request of the attorneys, one of whom is involved in another trial.
According to police, McDonald drove onto the sidewalk in front of the Aladdin hotel April 19, striking six pedestrians.
One of the pedestrians, Mike Wienkes, 36, of Mineral Point, Wis., died May 7 after spending nearly three weeks in a coma.
Chief Deputy District Attorney Gary Booker said blood tests showed McDonald was under the influence of marijuana, Ecstasy and methamphetamine.
