J.A. Jones closing Vegas office
Thursday, March 29, 2001 | 11:08 a.m.
J.A. Jones Construction Co., a Charlotte, N.C.-based contractor that is embroiled in lawsuits over delays and unpaid bills with the bankrupt Regent Las Vegas hotel-casino, said it will close its lone Las Vegas marketing office in June as part of an internal restructuring.
Ann McGough, J.A. Jones' spokeswoman, said the four-worker office at 1050 E. Flamingo Road will remain open for a few months until it has "completed the overhead work on some projects in the Las Vegas area."
"We will be shifting our personnel resources to our Los Angeles operations. The Las Vegas workers will either be on a project in the Las Vegas area or be moved to the Los Angeles office," McGough said.
"Instead of having a lot of offices that have functions like accounting and estimating, we're concentrating all the functions into one hub."
She said the company is downsizing its Los Angeles operations and ramping up its Denver offices as a Western United States headquarters. "We're reallocating our resources to the Denver area but will remain active in Nevada and California."
