Strike grounds LV-Tulsa flight

Tuesday, March 27, 2001 | 10:53 a.m.

A strike by the pilots of the nation's second-largest regional airline is grounding one flight a day to McCarran International Airport.

Comair, based at Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky International Airport in Hebron, Ky., offers a daily round-trip flight between Las Vegas and Tulsa, Okla. Comair, which flies as Delta Connection, a partner with Delta Air Lines, operates 50-passenger Canadair twin-engine jets to McCarran.

The walkout by the airline's 1,350 pilots is having no effect on SkyWest Airlines, another Delta Connection operator flying in Las Vegas.

Southwest Airlines, which also offers nonstop service to Tulsa, is honoring Comair tickets and passengers with electronic tickets have been encouraged to go to Delta counters to exchange them for paper tickets to be used on Southwest.
