LV getting tech conference

Monday, March 26, 2001 | 10:24 a.m.

The Consumer Electronic Association and JEDEC announced a joint partnership to launch a new Las Vegas conference called EdgeTech: Emerging Technologies Showcase.

The conference, showcasing the latest semiconductors to hit the market in the next year, will be held Aug. 19-21 at the Aladdin hotel-casino.

About 300 to 400 visitors and 25 exhibitors are expected to attend, said CEA spokesman Brad Jones.

The cost to register for attendance is $595 for CEA or JEDEC members and $695 for non-members. Booth registration ranges from $5,995 up to $20,000. Registration is scheduled to begin online in early April at www.ce.org and a soon-to-be launched site at www.edgetech.org.

CEA is also the host of the Consumer Electronic Show, the popular trade show that drew about 125,000 visitors to Las Vegas in January.
