Richard J. Baez Sr.
Richard J. Baez Sr., 52, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born July 1, 1948, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, he was an automotive service adviser and a Vietnam War Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Joanna M.; one daughter, Julianna Baez, one son, Richard John Baez Jr., his parents, Connie and Leo Baez, and two brothers, Art Baez and Tom Baez, all of Las Vegas; four sisters, Marilyn Tishma of Bakersfield, Calif., and Adela Hughes, Mary Louise Sales and Monica McGahey, all of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. March 30 in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
Frank Batchelor
Frank Batchelor, 60, of Las Vegas died March 4 in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 30, 1941, in South Carolina. A resident for 14 years, he was a taxicab driver.
He is survived by one sister, Patricia Mlechick, and one stepbrother, Dennis Eldridge, both of Las Vegas.
Visitation is scheduled 9:30-10:30 a.m. Friday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Sylvetta Christine Bobzin
Sylvetta Christine Bobzin, 79, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born June 30, 1921, in Nelsonville, Ohio. A resident for five years, she was a retired respiratory therapist.
She is survived by two daughters, Bonne Schwetz and Sunya Herron; two sons, William Bobzin and Broaderick Bowers; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Neptune Society of Nevada, 8570 Del Webb Blvd., is arranging private services.
Johnny Sneed Bolin
Johnny Sneed Bolin, 53, of Las Vegas died March 14 in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 2, 1947, in Tallulah, La. A resident for many years, he was a musician.
He is survived by one daughter, Deann Bolin of Los Angeles; four sisters, including her twin, Mary Bolin of Las Vegas, Catherine Roach of Tallulah, Geraldine Bolin of Melbourne, Australia, and Albertine Wiggins of Chico, Calif.; three brothers, Albert Bolin of Las Vegas, Willie Bolin and Jimmy Bolin, both of Tallulah; and his special friend, Paulette Campbell of Las Vegas.
Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Harrison-Ross Mortuaries, 2071 Las Vegas Blvd. North, North Las Vegas. A private burial will follow.
Christine Renee Slight Bruce
Christine Renee Slight Bruce, 39, of Las Vegas died March 15 in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 25, 1961, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, she was a former medical technician.
She is survived by her husband, B.J. Bruce; two sons, Grant Sutton and Matthew Bruce, one daughter, Alexandra Bruce, her father, Tom Slight, her mother, Sharon Slight, and two brothers, John Slight and David Slight, all of Las Vegas; and one sister, Jamie Ino of Makawao, Hawaii.
Mass will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in Christ the King Church, 4925 S. Torrey Pines Drive. Valley Memorial Crematory, 4855 W. Desert Inn Road, is handling arrangements.

Celestine Diego
Celestine Diego, 82, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local health care center. She was born April 5, 1918, in Dangriga, Belize. A resident for seven years, she was a retired seamstress for a doll manufacturer for 25 years.
She is survived by one daughter, Ethel Zuniga of Las Vegas; one son, Cornelius Lino of Los Angeles; two sisters, Margaret Lino and Francisca Diego, both of New York; one brother, Eugene Hernandez of Dangriga; 16 grandchildren and 62 great-grandchildren.
No local services are scheduled. Services and burial will be in California. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
Julie Holt
Julie Holt, 33, of Henderson died March 13 in Henderson. A resident for 33 years, she was born June 26, 1927.
She is survived by her parents, John and Effie Holt of Henderson.
Services will be 1 p.m. Monday in the LDS Arrowhead Chapel. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
Elwood C. Jones
Elwood C. Jones, 63, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born March 17, 1938, in Darby, Pa. A resident for 32 years, he was a retired aircraft equipment technician, a Vietnam War Air Force veteran who retired after 21 years and a member of the SGI-USA.
He is survived by his wife, Megumi; one daughter, Sandra Jones, and one son, Mark Jones, both of Las Vegas; three sisters, Phyllis Tyler, Gloria Taylor and Jean Bailey, and one brother, Alfred Jones, all of Philadelphia; and one grandchild.
A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.
Melvina P. Kudia
Melvina P. Kudia, 82, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born May 30, 1918, in Chicago. A resident for 16 years, she was a retired beautician.
She is survived by one daughter, Bonnie Reed of Las Vegas; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Marba Rose Leavitt
Marba Rose Leavitt, 76, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 5, 1924, in Alamo. A lifelong resident, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Max V.; two daughters, Janice Voorhies of West Jordan, Utah, and Maxine L. Whitney of Ohio; two sons, Wayne Leavitt and Newell Leavitt, her mother, Jesma Wilcox, and one sister, Jesma Jo Carter, all of Las Vegas; two brothers, Carlisle W. Wilcox of Grand Junction, Colo., and Thomas D. Wilcox of Las Vegas; 20 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. Friday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Additional visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 11 a.m. services Saturday in the LDS Gateway and Wyoming chapel. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens, 7251 W. Lone Mountain Road.
Francisco Loera
Francisco Loera, 65, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 11, 1935, in Monterey, Mexico. A resident for 15 years, he was a Clark County School District teacher and an Air Force veteran.
He is survived by his former wife, Patsy Loera of Junction City, Ore.; one son, Daniel Mark Loera of Salem, Ore.; one daughter, Angela Marie Tewell of Eugene, Ore.; his mother, Porfiria Loera of Ontario, Ore.; three brothers, Isabel (Chavelo) Loera of Nyssa, Ore., David Loera of Portland, Ore., and Manuel Loera of Las Vegas; four sisters, Enriqueta Allen of Ontario, Ore., Martha Guider of Seal Beach, Calif., Mary Dillon of Boise, Idaho, and Estela Loera of Eugene; and four grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 5-8 p.m. today in Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd. A tribute will be 10 a.m. Friday in Halle Hewetson Elementary School. Services and burial will be in Oregon.
Roosevelt McDaniel
Roosevelt McDaniel, 67, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospice. He was born Feb. 8, 1934, in Mount Bayou, Miss. A resident for 5 1/2 years, he was a retired Chicago gas company employee for 22 years, a custodian for the Clark County School District for two years and an active bowling league member.
He is survived by his wife, JoAnn; one brother, Lionel McDaniel of Little Rock, Ark.; and three grandchildren.
Services will be in Chicago. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.
Florence Miller
Florence Miller, 80, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Dec. 26, 1920, in the Bronx, N.Y. A resident for 32 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by one daughter, Judy Cribbens of Las Vegas; two sisters, Esther Golub of Laguna Niguel, Calif., and Edith Yahn of Palm Beach, Fla.; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Friday in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.
The family suggests donations to the Jewish National Fund.
Thomas Daniel Miller
Thomas Daniel Miller, 75, of Henderson died Monday in a local hospital. He was born April 7, 1928, in Manassa, Colo. A resident for 12 years, he was a retired aircraft instrument repairman and a World War II Navy veteran.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Elizabeth; three daughters, Kathryn Andersen and Marilyn Miller, both of Logan, Utah, and Julie Ybarra of Henderson; four sons, Kenneth Miller of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Phillip Miller, Bruce Miller and Gary Miller, all of Henderson; three sisters, Joan Miller of Tucson, Ariz., Jackie Ansaldo of Salt Lake City and Angie Henrie of Prescott, Ariz.; one brother, Dale Miller of Roy, Utah; 23 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Additional visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 11 a.m. services Friday in the LDS Palo Verde chapel. Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.
Barbara D. Ouimet
Barbara D. Ouimet, 46, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 1, 1954, in Borne, Mass. A resident for 25 years, she was a bank clerk.
She is survived by two sisters, Judith A. Ouimet of Bloomington, Ind., and Nandy H. Ouimet of Jersey City, N.J.
Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 4 p.m. services Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.
The family suggests donations to the National Depressive and Manic Depressive Association.
Bill 'Pop' Peters
Bill "Pop" Peters, 80, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 16, 1920, in St. Louis. A resident for 30 years, he was a retired truck driver and a World War II Army veteran.
He is survived by six sons, Gary Peters and Joseph Peters, both of Hillsboro, Mo., Warren Peters of Las Vegas, William Peters Jr. of Farmington, Mo., John Peters of Festus, Mo., and Mike Peters of DeSoto, Mo.; one sister, Esther Buehl of Clearwater, Fla.; 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Lula M. Ross, 77, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born May 25, 1923, in Gadsden, Ala. A resident for 22 years, she was a retired telephone operator.
She is survived by one daughter, Gail R. Ristow of Las Vegas; one brother, Horace Craft of Gainesville, Ga.; and one sister, Frances Nelson of Weaver, Ala.

Joseph A. Sanna
Joseph A. Sanna, 68, of Henderson died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 15, 1932, in the Bronx, N.Y. A resident for 22 years, he was a retired gardener and a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association.
He is survived by his wife, Rosemary; four daughters, Christina Sanna of Eagle Rock, Calif., Donna Cawthurn of Manteca, Calif., and Marcia Sanna and Rosalinda Sanna; two sons, Mark Anthony Sanna of Eagle Rock and Joseph A. Sanna Jr. of Chula Vista, Calif.; and six grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday in the St. Rose Dominican Hospital chapel, 102 E. Lake Mead Drive, Henderson. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Louise Shaffer, 74, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospice. She was born Nov. 1, 1926, in Franklin, Ark. A resident for 49 years, she was an office manager in the clothing industry and a member of Daughters of the Nile-El Giza Temple 139.
She is survived by one son, Todd Shaffer, one daughter, Lisa Reising, and one sister, LaDell Marks, all of Las Vegas; four brothers, Ray Hanley of Elko and Van Hanley, Jack Hanley and Jimmie Hanley, all of Las Vegas; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 4-6 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in St. Joseph, Husband of Mary Catholic Church, 7260 W. Sahara Ave.

Gilles J. Valois, 85, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born April 13, 1915, in Montreal. A resident for 32 years, he was retired and was a World War II Canadian Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Antoinette; one son, Ronald J. Valois of Monterey Park, Calif.; one brother, Marcel Valois of Chino, Calif.; four sisters, Jeanine Valois, Denise Laughlin, Leonne Valois and Delores Vermette, all of Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Sunday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 10 a.m. Monday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens.

Suzanne Wilson, 46, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born July 18, 1954. A resident for 10 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by one daughter, Maggie Wilson, and one son, Brandon Wilson, both of Las Vegas; and one brother, James Stehman of Gardnerville.
