Helen A. Albano
Helen A. Albano, 68, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born April 20, 1932, in Buffalo, N.Y. A resident for 16 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Philip Frank; two daughters, Cynthia Placencia and Karen Marie Morales, two sons, Philip Ralph Albano and John Anthony Albano, and one sister, Patricia Lanuto, all of Las Vegas; and six grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday in the LDS Orchard Valley Ward, at Sahara Avenue and Tree Line Drive. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.
Harvey Armstrong
Harvey Armstrong, 80, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 22, 1921, in Woodbine, Iowa. A resident for 20 years, he was a retired Navy chief petty officer.
He is survived by one son, Leland Armstrong; one daughter, Cathy Hamilton; two stepsons, James Munson and Gerald Munson; and eight grandchildren.
Private services will be held in California. Neptune Society of Nevada, 8570 Del Webb Blvd., is handling arrangements.
Miriam A. Balinao
Miriam A. Balinao, 66, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born Aug. 20, 1934, in the Philippines. A resident for 13 years, she was a registered nurse in a hospital.
Visitation was scheduled 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. services today in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Burial will be private.
James Banon
James Banon, 49, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born July 9, 1951, in Fairbault, Minn. A resident for nine years, he was a carpenter.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon; one son, Paul J. Banon, and one daughter, Krista Banon, both of Las Vegas; his mother, Doris Neumann of Fairbault; one brother, Paul G. Banon of Miami; and one sister, Kathy Hansen of Minnetonka, Minn.

Elijah Thorne Davis-Perez
Elijah Thorne Davis-Perez, 16 weeks, died Sunday. He was born Nov. 23, 2000, in Las Vegas.
He is survived by his mother, Barbara Ann Davis, his father, Anthony Christopher Perez, and three brothers, Richard Davis, Elliott Davis and Tyrell Davis, all of Las Vegas; and his grandparents, Mary and Lee Watson of Las Vegas and Suzie and Robert Villanueva of Carson, Calif.
Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 1 p.m. services Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Graveside services will follow in Palm Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.
Rosa I. Delegado
Rosa I. Delegado, 58, of North Las Vegas died Friday. She was born Sept. 23, 1942, in Panama. A resident for 12 years, she was a casino change woman.
She is survived by her husband, Juan Sr.; two sons, Juan Delegado Jr. of London and Luis Delegado Sr. of North Las Vegas; one daughter, Marial Delegado, and one brother, Rodrigo Burgos, both of Panama City; and five grandchildren.

John R. Elk
John R. Elk, 66, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born March 16, 1935, in Santa Rosa, Calif. A resident for 36 years, he was a asino dealer and a Korean War Navy veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Sun; two daughters, Susan Elk and Trac Thomason, both of Las Vegas; one brother, Don Elk, and two sisters, Eleanor and Pat, all of California.

Robert W. Guthrie
Robert W. Guthrie, 67, of Las Vegas died Feb. 19 in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 10, 1933.

David A. Jones
David A. Jones, 47, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospice. He was born Oct. 27, 1953, in New Bedford, Mass. A resident for 31 years, he was a teacher and a Vietnam War Marine Corps veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Darlene Countryman-Jones; one daughter, Roxann Jones, and one son, Eric Jones, both of Las Vegas; one sister, Catherine Burton of New Bedford, Mass.; one brother, Edward Jones of Massachusetts; and four grandchildren.

William Loyal Kirk Jr.
William Loyal Kirk Jr., 68, of Indian Springs died Sunday. He was born Nov. 19, 1932, in The Dalles, Ore. A resident for four years, he was a retired computer scientist in the medical field and a Korean War Air Force veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Carol A.; three daughters, Pamela K. Rowe of San Diego, Adrianne L. Tofi of Tustin, Calif., and Cheryl N. Koch of Anaheim Hills, Calif.; one son, Jeffrey W. Kirk of San Francisco; one sister, Judy M. Quackenbush of The Dalles; and seven grandchildren.

Minna Lavietes
Minna Lavietes, 84, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born March 10, 1917, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for 51 years, she was a secretary for the Clark County School District, a member of the PTA, Musicians Wives Club, Community Concerts and League of Women Voters, a longtime supporter of the arts including Nevada Ballet Theatre, Community Concerts, Las Vegas Jazz Society and Channel 10.
She is survived by one daughter, Anne Terry of Santa Rosa, Calif.; three sons, Nosh Lavietes of North Las Vegas and Louis Lavietes and Joseph Lavietes, both of Las Vegas; one brother, David Silver of New York City; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Richard H. Lehner, 72, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 27, 1928, in California. A resident for 62 years, he was a mill worker and an Army veteran.
He is survived by one son, Greg Lehner.

Meyer 'Mike' Levine
Meyer "Mike" Levine, 78, of Las Vegas died Monday in an assisted living home. He was born July 30, 1922, in New York City. A resident for five years, he was a retired real estate broker and a World War II Air Force veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley; two sons, Curtis Levine of Llano, Calif., and Keith Levine of Denver; one stepson, Daniel Kass of Walnut Creek, Calif.; one stepdaughter, Nancy Lemas of Boise, Idaho; one brother, Nathan Levine of Oceanside, Calif.; and six grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Palm Chapel, Cheyenne.

Christina S. Lozon, 37, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born June 19, 1963, in Colorado. A resident for four years, she was a cook.
She is survived by her husband, Steve; two sons, Christopher Brunson of Paris, Texas, and Charles Brunson of Fort Sill, Okla.; her father, Joseph Martinez of New Mexico; his mother, Isabelle Valdez of Colorado; two brothers, Alex Martines and Augustine Martines; four sisters, Charlotte Martines, Debbie Martines, Mona Martines and Josi Martines.

Ann McFarland, 78, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born July 21, 1922, in New York City. A resident for 21 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Jim; two daughters, Barbara Kooinga of Las Vegas and Susan Buccellato of Waukesha, Wis.; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Nicanor Teodoro Pili Sr.
Nicanor Teodoro Pili Sr., 91, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born June 6, 1909, in the Philippines. A resident for six years, he was a foreman at a cannery, a World War II Army veteran in the 1st Filipino infantry regiment who earned the Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Philippine Liberation Ribbon and the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal.
He is survived by his wife, Stella; three sons, Nicanor Pili Jr. of Santa Maria, Calif., Mark Pili of Las Vegas and Earl Pili of Oxnard, Calif.; two daughters, Roberta Robertson of Las Vegas and Luona Majestk; one brother, Silvester Pili of Santa Maria; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 1-7 p.m. Thursday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Bunkers Chapel. Burial will follow in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.
L.C. Pruitt
L.C. Pruitt, 65, of Las Vegas died Monday in Eagle Valley. He was born Oct. 24, 1935, in Tennessee. A resident for 16 years, he was a service technician at Sears.
He is survived by his wife, Judith J.; two daughters, Lynda Evans of Las Vegas and Nancy Huntley of Washington state; one brother, Richard Pruitt, and two sisters, Maggie Barnes and Mable Pruitt, all of Tennessee.

Edward Schmidt
Edward Schmidt, 86, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born April 29, 1914, in Wisconsin. A resident for 23 years, he was a machine operator, an Army veteran and a member of Arthur Kerlin Post.
He is survived by one daughter, Sandra; and one sister, Dorey Piraino.

Ronnie Seigel, 87, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 22, 1913, in New York. A resident for many years, she was retired.
She is survived by one nephew, Arthur Klein of Delray Beach, Fla.; and one niece, Eileen Berger of Las Vegas.

Douglas Juvinall Smith
Douglas Juvinall Smith, 84, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospice. He was born April 4, 1936, in Chicago. A resident for 12 years, he was retired from the Navy, was a Vietnam War veteran and an employee of the Las Vegas Housing Authority for 10 years.
He is survived by his wife, Fama; one son, Douglas Scott Smith of Las Vegas; one daughter, Tammy Lee DeFarcy of San Diego; two stepdaughters, Kandy Johnson of San Jose, Calif., and Karlene Bradley of Salem, Ore.; one sister, Nancy Dickey of Salem; and four grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the North Las Vegas Airport-Grand Canyon Room. Burial will be at the Willamette National Cemetery, Portland, Ore. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Louis A. Timmins, 74, of Henderson died Monday in Henderson. He was born Feb. 9, 1927, in Philadelphia. A resident for six years, he was a retired banker and a World War II Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Irene M.; one daughter, Noreen Timmins of Phoenix; five sons, Richard Timmins of Los Altos Hills, Calif., Michael Timmins and Brian Timmins, both of Chandler, Ariz., William Timmins of Palmdale, Calif., and Kevin Timmins of Drippings Springs, Texas; one brother, William Timmins of Philadelphia; three sisters, Terri, Virginia and Anna, all of Pennsylvania; 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Willie B. Williams, 59, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 20, 1941, in Warden, La. A resident for 20 years, he was an El Cortez hotel cook for 15 years.
He is survived by two daughters, Jacqueline Williams of Las Vegas and Paula Williams of Monroe, La.; and four sisters, Bessie Munerlyn, Geneva O'Neal, Alice Harris-Alvarez and Ernestine Ross, all of Las Vegas; five brothers, Robert Williams, David Williams, Ed Williams and Jerry Williams, all of Las Vegas, and Charles Williams of Monroe; and four grandchildren.
