Lake Mead plans cleanup project
Lake Mead National Recreation Area will again participate in the Great American Cleanup with a major project of picking up litter scheduled at Government Wash 9 a.m. Saturday beginning at the Government Wash.
Government Wash, an active boat launch and campground, is near mile marker 5.8 on the Northshore Road.
The Great American Cleanup is an annual event of Keep America Beautiful Inc., a nonprofit organization whose network of local, state and international affiliate programs educates individuals about litter prevention. For more information, call 293-8947.
Henderson hosting snorkeling workshop
The Henderson Parks and Recreation Department is offering participants the opportunity to experience surface air-supplied snorkeling 7-9 p.m. March 27 at the Indoor Pool at Whitney Ranch Recreation Center, 1575 Galleria Drive.
Participation is $25 per person and includes all equipment.
Instructors from FUNN Divers and Five Star Scuba Center will teach participants proper skin diving and snorkeling techniques. Those successfully completing the workshop will earn certification cards. For more information, call 897-3866.
Walk, rides will help Safe-Nest
Soroptimists International has scheduled its annual Family Matters fun ride and walk to benefit Safe-Nest at 8 a.m. Saturday at Bunker Park in Summerlin.
The event, which includes a 5K mystery fun walk as well as 10-mile and 30-mile biking courses, is designed to raise awareness of the needs of domestic violence victims and funds for shelter operations.

Harley-Davidson Cafe schedules Sunday event
The Harley-Davidson Cafe Bike Show, featuring 20 classes of motorcycles, raffles for cash, show tickets and Harley-Davidson Cafe merchandise, will begin with registration 8 a.m. Sunday at the Harley-Davidson Cafe, 3725 Las Vegas Blvd. South.
The entry fee is $40 per bike and includes entry to the show, a Harley-Davidson Cafe pin and a buffet lunch. Extra lunches are available at $20 per person.

A Greek Independence Day
celebration will be hosted by AHEPA Chapter 314 at 1 p.m. Sunday at the St. John's Greek Orthodox Church, 5300 El Camino Road. Donations are $15 for adults, and $10 for children (12 and under). For more information, call 263-3958.
The psychic and healing arts fair

Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area
