Aussie e-gaming software firm to open Las Vegas office
Wednesday, March 21, 2001 | 11:09 a.m.
Gaming Entertainment Technology, an Australian-based maker of Internet gambling software, has established an office in Summerlin, resulting from a partnership with some of the principles of Las Vegas-based Playersclub.com.
Gaming Entertainment's software is used by regulated cyber-gambling operators throughout the world.
Nevada does not permit cyber-gambling within its borders, but state legislators are debating whether to permit some forms of Internet gambling.
Gaming Entertainment's local office is at 801 S. Rampart Blvd. Its chief executive, Patrick Rogers, is a former vice president of marketing for Las Vegas-based PurchasePro, a company that provides marketplaces for businesses to buy and sell products in bulk quantities on the Internet.
Gaming Entertainment Technology was formed in Sydney, Australia, in 1995, where cyber-gambling has flourished under a legal and regulated environment for the past few years.
