BASEBALL
Cimarron-Memorial 12, Rancho 1: Jason Ruiz went 2-for-4 with three RBIs and Matt Wagner went 2-for-4 with four RBIs for the Spartans. Cimarron starter Jared Johnson yielded three hits and struck out seven in four innings of work.
Foothill 2, Bonanza 1: Jabe Beard scattered seven hits over seven innings and did not surrender an earned run en route to the victory for the Falcons. Ricky Cerrone led off the game with a Foothill homer, while Eric Dahlberg went 3-for-4 for the Bengals.
Western 7, Basic 6: Julio Spano's run-scoring fielder's choice sent Jordaan Boesch to the plate in the bottom of the seventh to lift the Warriors over the top-ranked Wolves. Tommy LaFronz held the Wolves to eight hits in seven innings, and Boesch finished 3-for-4 with three RBIs for Western. Mark Rose and Micah Schnurstein each had two RBIs for Basic.
Green Valley 9, Clark 3: Eric Durante belted a two-run homer for the Gators, and finished 2-for-4 with three RBIs. Zeke Parraz, Chris McGovern and Garrett Guzman had two hits apiece for Green Valley, and Paul Vignola recorded his first varsity victory.
Valley 4, Mojave 3: Steven Montano scored on a squeeze bunt by John Dicku in the seventh to win it for the Vikings.
Chaparral 13, Coconino (Ariz.) 3: The Cowboys got two hits apiece from Jonathan West, Jason Frederico, Jason Cunningham and Chris Armbruster had two hits apiece to post a victory in the Cibola Invitational in Yuma, Ariz.
Palo Verde 17, Desert Pines 0: Brandon Kinsler struck out 12 batters and allowed just two hits, while Eric and Justin Newman both went 2-for-2 with two RBIs apiece.
Durango 5, Silverado 4, 8 inn.: Adam Kunkel homered with one out in the bottom of the eight to lift the Trailblazers. Coltyn Simmons and Adam Quinlan both doubled for Durango, while Casey McDonald went 3-for-3 with an RBI. Danny Esquer was 2-for-4 with two RBIs for the Skyhawks.
SOFTBALL
Las Vegas 11, Cheyenne 0: Sara Minniear held the Desert Shiels to four hits, and Danielle Dugan and Marsha Rollins each had three hits for the Wildcats.
Bonanza 1, Foothill 0: Ashley Powers' RBI double scored Kerrie Campbell in the second for the game's lone run, and Trisha DeSimone tossed a complete-game three-hitter for the Bengals.
Palo Verde 15, Desert Pines 0: Nikki Rose, Rachel Gonzales and Jen Huber all homered and Christine Bushman held the Jaguars hitless in a three-inning affair. Rose finished 3-for-3 with four RBIs, while Gonzales went 2-for-2 with a pair of RBIs.
Centennial 7, Eldorado 1: Amy Sauer scattered three hits and struck out 11 batters and Maggie Livreri went 3-for-4 with three RBIs as the Bulldogs improved to 4-0. Renne Gervais homered for the Sundevils.
Cimarron-Memorial 15, Rancho 0: Victoria Morache went 3-for-3 with four RBIs, two stolen bases and two runs, and Kim Adams struck out six batters and allowed just three hits to lead the Spartans. Jaime Hughes chipped in with three RBIs.
Basic 6, Western 0: Brittany Lorenzen went 2-for-4 with a triple and two runs for the Wolves.
Bishop Gorman 5, Chaparral 4: Cassie Burks' RBI double capped off a three-run seventh for the Gaels. Theresa Liedlich went 3-for-4 and picked up the victory in relief, striking out four batters in two innings.
Mojave 5, Valley 2: Raissa Mata went 3-for-3 with a double and Jackie Hafen went 2-for-3 with a triple to lead the Rattlers.

Chaparral def. Durango, 15-9, 15-8, 14-16, 15-12: David Garrard had 22 kills, Sindre Storvall had 21 kills, Brine Payne chipped in 14 kills and 15 blocks and Andy Wayerski dished out 48 assists for the Cowboys. Mason Duff had 37 assists and eight blocks to lead the Blazers.
