Letter: With greedy proposals, Bush abets the rich

George W. Bush says the working people of America deserve a tax cut, but the proposition he is trying to sneak through Congress gives most of the money to the 10 percent who are rich guys, and it ignores future government needs. As Bush says, he is one of those 10 percent. What is more dismaying is his attempt to do away with the estate tax.
The Republicans are trying to sell the repeal of the "death tax" as a way to save the family farm, but a couple inheriting a farm or other business already has a $2.6 million-dollar exemption.
The repeal of this tax is a greedy effort to pass on the billions of the few aristocrats at the expense of churches, colleges and all the charities, which are of service to the less fortunate. The estate tax is the only incentive for those thousand points of light. Only the richest 2 percent of the taxpayers provide the $30 billion per year estate tax money to support nonprofit organizations. The working public would have to make that up or do without the services.
I am not surprised at the Bush con job. It was Bush whose Arbusto oil scam made him a fortune at the expense of the stockholders.
You can bet whatever he does with taxes will favor rich guys, such as he is, at the expense of those hard-working Americans he keeps trying to con.
