Additional assistant regional superintendents for the Clark County School District were named Thursday by the School Board.
Regionalization is the core of a reorganization plan for the district put forward by Superintendent Carlos Garcia and approved by the School Board.
Garcia's plan keeps the district whole while dividing it into five regions. The plan is designed to raise student achievement and make the district more responsive and accessible to the public.
Here are the new assistant superintendents for the regions named Thursday and the positions they were promoted from:
* Northeast -- Kathleen Kinley, director of administrative training and staff development, at a salary of $94,836 plus $2,300 a year for longevity.
* Southeast -- Carolyn Reedom, principal of John C. Vanderburg Elementary School, salary of $98,836 plus $2,800 a year for longevity.
* East Central -- Paul Garbiso, principal of Rancho High School, salary $90,312.
* Southwest -- Rebecca Kaatz, principal of Duane D. Keller Middle School, salary of $90,312.
Assistant superintendents for the northwest region were named last month. They are: Billie Rayford and Carla Steinforth. Each region will have two assistant superintendents and one superintendent. Also last month, the School Board named the following assistant superintendents: Steve McCoy, Northeast; Marjorie Conner, East Central; Mike Robison, Southwest; Lauren Kohut-Rost, Southeast.
Superintendents for the regions are: Leonard Paul, Northwest; Marsha Irvin, Northeast; Maurice Flores, East Central; Allen Coles, Southwest; and Edward Goldman, Southeast.
