In a landmark sponsorship agreement, Wrangler has become the first title sponsor of the National Finals Rodeo, the world championship event of professional rodeo since 1959.
The NFR is held annually at the Thomas & Mack Center in December.
The three-year agreement, part of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association's continuing effort to elevate professional rodeo to a new level, was announced by PRCA Commissioner Steven J. Hatchell today during a press conference at the New York Stock Exchange in New York City.
While the agreement represents a first for the NFR, it isn't Wrangler's first foray into sponsorship of a major sporting event. Wrangler has been associated with major sports such as NASCAR. The late Dale Earnhardt drove the Wrangler car from 1981 through 1987.
