Cheyenne 5, Las Vegas 2: Ryan Prince tossed a complete game, scattering six hits and striking out seven for the Desert Shields. Steve Thurston went 2-for-3 for the victors, while Justin Hicks scored both runs for the Wildcats.
Chaparral 4, Boulder City 0: Matt Huff and Jesse Garza combined for a one-hit shutout, striking out 11 Eagle batters.
SOFTBALL
Bonanza 10, Green Valley 2: Ashley Mauro went 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs and Kerri Campbell went 3-for-5 with three RBIs to lead the Bengals. Laura Young homered for the Gators.
Centennial 13, Boulder City 0: The Bulldogs picked up a road win against their Class 3A opponent.
BOYS VOLLEYBALL
Chaparral def. Bonanza, 15-8, 15-4, 15-13: David Garrard had 26 kills, Brian Payne added 12 kills and eight blocks and Andy Wayerski chipped in with 39 assists for the Cowboys. Brett Call had 10 kills and David Faaesea contributed 26 assists for the Bengals.
