Local group to meet at Sahara Ave. library

The Jewish Genealogy Society of Southern Nevada will meet 1 p.m. Sunday in the multipurpose room of the Sahara West Library, 9600 W. Sahara Ave.

The history of the Naturalization process, and overview of American naturalization records will be presented by Carole Montello.

Spring Fashion show set at Red Rock Country Club

The Clark County Medical Society Alliance is sponsoring the Neiman Marcus 2001 Spring Fashion Show 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Red Rock Country Club, 2250 Red Springs Drive. The cost for the luncheon and fashion show is $45. The event benefits Candlelighters for Childhood Cancer of Southern Nevada.

CCMSA is a nonprofit service organization comprised of spouses of members of the Clark County Medical Society and the American Medical Association. It serves to provide help and funds for worthy charitable organizations in Las Vegas, which provide assistance to individuals with health, educational and social hardships, and as a support group to its members and the CCMSA. Red Rock Canyon area needs landscape volunteers

Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area and the Master Gardeners are sponsoring a replanting day Saturday and March 24. The are looking for volunteers to help landscape the areas around the Red Rock Canyon Visitor Center. For more information, call 363-1922.

Sociology professor, author scheduled to speak at UNLV

George Ritzer, distinguished sociology professor from the University of Maryland and author of the best seller "The McDonaldization of Society," will speak noon Monday in the Classroom Building Complex, Room B-225 on the UNLV Campus, 4505 S. Maryland Parkway.
