Woman’s death is first 2001 homicide in Henderson

A 33-year-old mentally challenged woman was found dead and bound in a bathroom in her Henderson home Tuesday.

Julie Holt was found dead by her father when he returned to his house in the 900 block of Stetson Drive, near U.S. 95 and College Drive, about 3 p.m. Tuesday, Henderson Police said.

Police suspect robbery may be a motive in the slaying, said Officer Valerie Klein, a department spokeswoman.

Holt's slaying is the first homicide in Henderson this year. In 2000 there were eight homicides last year.

A witnesses described the suspect as a man with a large build driving a tan station wagon.
