Lucy Ball

Lucy Ball, 60, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born April 1, 1940, in Little Rock, Ark. A resident for 40 years, she was a dealer at Harrah's.

She is survived by two sons, Raymond Carroll and Ron Carroll, both of Las Vegas; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 4 p.m. Thursday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

Robert E. Bonk

Robert E. Bonk, 69, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 11, 1931, in Chicago. A resident for two years, he was a retired section chief for a telecommunications company, Korean War Air Force veteran and a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America Association.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara J.; two daughters, Kathy S. Dondero of Las Vegas and Kris A. Carlin of Aurora, Ill.; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Morris DeWayne Bowie

Morris DeWayne Bowie, 26, of Las Vegas died March 7 in a local hospital. He was born May 30, 1975, in Louisiana. A resident for many years, he was a service attendant for a taxicab company.

He is survived by his parents, James and Georgia Mae Wiggins; four brothers, James Wiggins III, Andrew Wiggins, Jeremiah Wiggins and Matthew Wiggins; one sister, LaQuinna Wiggins; his grandparents, James and Tennessee Wiggins Sr., of Sondheimer, La., and Willie Mae Batchelor of Las Vegas; and his great-grandfather, Ernest A. Bowie of Tallulah, La.

Visitation is scheduled noon-7 p.m. Thursday in Harrison-Ross Mortuaries, 2071 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 1 p.m. Friday in True Love Missionary Baptist Church, 1941 N. H St. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Rubye L. Calhoun

Rubye L. Calhoun, 63, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospice. She was born March 15, 1937, in Arlington, Ky. A resident for three years, she was a retired elementary school teacher.

She is survived by two daughters, Yuvette Calhoun of Las Vegas and Jacquetta Daniels of Rochester, N.Y.; and two grandchildren.

Services will be private. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Mary Sue Carter

Mary Sue Carter, 86, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born July 16, 1914, in Humboldi, Tenn. A resident for 13 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two sons, Larry Carter and David Carter, and one daughter, Loretta Snyder Koch, all of Las Vegas; 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and four great great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. services Friday in Spring Valley Baptist Church, 3135 S. Rainbow Blvd. Burial will be in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Martha Cunningham

Martha Cunningham, 70, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born June 13, 1930, in Ironton, Ohio. A resident for 14 months, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by four daughters, Frances Osborn of Las Vegas, Billie Valdez of Moreno Valley, Calif., Mary Scarberry of South Bloomfield, Ohio, and Bonnie Ralph of Riverside, Calif.; one brother, Edward Mullens of Lockborne, Ohio; one sister, Betty Case of Wilmington, Ohio; 18 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

David Scott 'Big Dog' Dearman

David Scott "Big Dog" Dearman, 45, of Henderson died Sunday in Henderson. He was born June 5, 1955, in Los Alamos, N.M. A resident for 38 years, he was a welder for the school district, Vietnam War Army veteran and a member of the Honor Guard.

He is survived by his wife, Pamela; three sons, Nicholas, John and Christopher, all of Henderson; his parents, Jean and Henry Dearman of Las Vegas; and one brother, Mark Dearman of Carpinteria, Calif.

A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Highland Hills Baptist Church, 615 College Drive. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson.

Thomas E. Elsberry, 82, of Madrid, Iowa, died Saturday in Madrid. He was born in Boone, Iowa. A former resident of Las Vegas, he was a security guard and military veteran.

Charles K. Falkner of Kenosha, Wis., was to be buried today at Palm cemetery, northwest.

He is survived by his wife, Rosemarie; three sons, Craig, Eugene and William; and four grandchildren.

Mary "Sally" Fuson, 78, of North Las Vegas died Sunday in North Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 20, 1923, in Lindsay, Texas. A resident for 50 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Sally of Henderson; two sons, Gus F. Fuson of Road River, Ore., and Guy D. Fuson of New London, Iowa; three sisters, Lindy Baker of Arlington, Texas, Dorothy Anderson of Tishomingo, Okla., and Gen Baker of Ft. Worth, Texas; three brothers, LeRoy Krebs of Oklahoma City, Pat Krebs of Glendale, Ariz., and Donald Krebs of Saginaw, Texas; 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was scheduled until 5:30 p.m. with a 6 p.m. rosary today in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Christopher's Catholic Church, 1840 N. Bruce St. Graveside services will be 12:30 p.m. Thursday in Palm Memorial Park.

Duane 'Dewey' Gaines

Duane "Dewey" Gaines, 73, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 9, 1927, in Lake City, Ark. A resident for 36 years, he was a retired pipe fitter, Korean War Navy veteran, past captain of the Zelzah Patrol and a member of the Indian Springs Masonic Lodge 48, Scottish Rite Bodies of Las Vegas, York Rite, Zelzah Shrine Temple, Navy Memorial, American Legion, Pipe Fitters Local 525, Teamsters Local 631 and the National Rifle Association.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley; two sons, Dale Gaines and Paul Gaines, both of Las Vegas; one sister, Dorothy Cochran of Bakersfield, Calif.; five grandchildren and one great- grandchild.

Graveside services will be be 2 p.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

James Hutcheson, 49, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 9, 1951, in San Luis Obispo, Calif. A resident for 10 years, he was an automobile mechanic.

He is survived by his mother, Mary Frances Jensen of New Mexico; and two brothers, Frank McGuire of New Mexico and Joseph McGuire of California.

Leroy King Jr.

Leroy King Jr., 53, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 27, 1947, in New York. A resident for 10 years, he was an airport security guard and a Navy veteran.

He is survived by three sisters, Lisa King of Las Vegas and Lynn King and Leah King, both of New York.

Burial will be in Calverton, N.Y. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, handled arrangements.

Flo Martin

Flo Martin, 80, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born April 29, 1920, in Waikapu, Hawaii. A resident for 25 years, she was a retired travel agent and a member of the Las Vegas Town Club and Legion of Mary.

She is survived by two sons, Alex San Buenaventura of Las Vegas and Frederick San Buenaventura of Oakland, Calif.; two daughters, Ellen San Buenaventura of Tucson, Ariz., and Joy San Buenaventura of Hilo, Hawaii; two sisters, Juanita Te and Clarissa Santos, both of San Jose, Calif.; and one grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Palm, Eastern. Burial will be in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Girolama Mercadante

Girolama Mercadante, 97, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 14, 1903, in St. Louis, Mo. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by two sons, Salvatore V. Mercadante and Giuseppi Mercadante, and one daughter, Alice Mercadante, all of Las Vegas; one sister, Mary Ladensack of Detroit; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 5 p.m. until a 7 p.m. rosary Thursday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday in St. Francis Catholic Church, 1111 Michael Way. Burial will be in Bunker Memory Gardens.

Martin Allen Milley, 50, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born July 31, 1950, in Buffalo, N.Y. A resident for 20 years, he was a cabdriver.

Elizabeth Moea

Elizabeth Moea, 58, of Henderson died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born May 17, 1942, in New York. A resident for 11 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by three sons, Don Evola of Washington state, Jeff Moea of California and Victor Moea Jr., of Nevada; his mother, Connie Lombardi; one sister, Helen Belistrai; and two grandchildren.

Margaret F. Montalto, 79, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born March 12, 1922, in New York City. A resident for seven years, she was a retired film technician for a motion picture company.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph; one daughter, Barbara Jones of Las Vegas; one son, Robert Montalto of Pearl City, Hawaii; one sister, Clair Merante of Las Vegas; one son, Harry Giarretto of San Jose, Calif.; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Albert J. Paradiso, 56, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 5, 1944, in the Bronx, N.Y. A resident for 15 years, he was a cabdriver and a military veteran.

He is survived by one son, Ronald Paradiso and one daughter, Michelle Paradiso, both of New York; two brothers, Thomas Paradiso of Arkansas and Edmund Paradiso of New York; and one sister, Jeanmarie DeSavo of Nevada.

He is survived by his wife, Barb; three daughters, Reney Freimark of Des Moines, Iowa, and Stephanie Piimauna and Angela English, both of Las Vegas; one son, Telia Piimauna of Springboro, Ohio; three sisters, Victoria Chai of Honolulu, May Dyal of Atlanta and Johanna Smith of Las Vegas; and eight grandchildren.

He is survived by one daughter, Jean Spear of Union City, Calif.; one son, Larry Riley of Gardiner, Mont.; one sister, Blanche Lundy of Las Vegas; two brothers, Clyde Riley of South Sioux City, Neb., and Frank Riley of Mt. Pleasant, Utah; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

A resident for 23 years, he was a commercial and residential general contractor, member of the Pahrump Valley Chamber of Commerce, National Association of Commercial Builders, Southern Nevada Homebuilders and past president of the Rotary Club.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce; two daughters, Suane L. Schnelzer-Sanchez and Kalee A. Schnelzer, both of Pahrump; his mother, Mildred M. Bacher of Port Charlotte, Fla.; one brother, David J. Schnelzer of Canal Fulton, Ohio; and one sister, Evelyn J. Bauer of Ft. Myer, Fla.

Harold Raymond Silva, 78, of Henderson died Monday in Henderson. He was born May 22, 1922, in Providence, R.I. He was a retired poker manager and a World War II Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Cicely; one daughter, Nancy Lewis of Henderson; one stepson, Gary Floyd of Melbourne, Fla.; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

William L. Widrig

William L. Widrig, 68, of Las Vegas died March 6 in Las Vegas. He was born April 6, 1932, in New York. A resident for 30 years, he was a retired hotel security guard, Korean War and Vietnam War Air Force veteran and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Eagles and American Legion Post 8.

He is survived by his wife, Florance M. Widrig; two stepdaughters, Melody Berkheiser of Portland, Ore., and Melinda Gunderman of Sandy, Ore.; four stepsons, Thomas Bloodgood of Cedar City, Utah, and Anthony Bloodgood, Trent Bloodgood and Stanley Bloodgood, all of Las Vegas; two sisters, Betty Bubbs of Bath, N.Y., and Donna Magee of Savona, N.Y.; 23 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
